Jeffery Cornwell

Jeffery studied fine art at Ringling College of Art and Design. Apprenticed with Toro Yamamoto and honed his skills freelancing. As a Painter, Jeffery draws his inspiration from the natural environment, more specific the relation of sky and land. He is an exhibiting painter with his work shown in solo and group shows in galleries and alternative spaces. His work has been represented by galleries in Florida, Georgia, Texas, and on the west coast of the United States and is in private collections throughout the United States and Europe.

About his work Jeffery states,

In my observation of the sky and land relationship there seems to be unity. Yet I see an abstraction at play, a constant changing of appearance, color and form, a mystery of relationships sometimes a peaceful quietness or of turbulent force. What led me to explore in painting my own interpretation of these relationships is this mystery and an equal love for representation and abstraction and linking the essence of past and present ideals. Though rooted in observation, it is more essential my paintings depict a reflection of truth, a rightness and embodiment of place, a personal interpretation rather than an exact reproduction.
